Over the last week I’ve spent some time reading what’s probably the best biography on Napoleon ever written. It’s called: Napoleon: A Life, by Andrew Roberts. Ironically the reason why the world has only had one Napoleon is the same reason there are so few truly excellent accounts of his life—very few people care about details, and those who do rise as high as their circumstance allows.
